Ingredients

What is Sake Lees?

Sake lees is a byproduct of sake brewing, and has been traditionally handled by the chief brewer, called "touji". It is famous for its beauty effects, and it is said that the hands of sake craftsmen are beautiful due to the use of sake lees. Sake lees is the solid matter that remains after sake is squeezed from moromi, which is made by fermenting rice and rice malt soaked in water. It is rich in arbutin and free linoleic acid, making it suitable for both consumption and application on the skin.

Will repurchase it !

First time trying this mask. It is very thick, pasty, but I love this texture. It left my my skin soft & bright, a bit difficult removing it, next time will do it in the shower. Will definitely repurchase.

Loved it

This was absolutely divine. It is very thick so beware if you don't love that consistency. Me on the other hand, I really enjoy a thick mask. It is harder to wash off but I like to take my time when it comes to skincare. Applying this before a shower might help with that if it bothers you! The results were absolutely worth the work. My skin had the most beautiful glow and clarity I haven't seen in a while. I need to add that it was that time of month and my skin was really not happy at all. I swear, using this and another toner purchased here brought my skin back to life. I'm so glad I got my hands on this.

Thank you so much for your review!

Messy+Fun+Good Result

If you liked making mud pies as a child (or mud *masks* like I did- my poor family!) you'll have fun with this pack. It's a very thick, creamy paste. It's grainy too which can make it hard to spread. The instructions say to use it on damp skin which aids the spreading, but I prefer to mix the pack with some toner to make it softer. I get a nice even layer that way.

It feels nice- like it's hugging my face! Some reviews mention it being hard to rinse off, and I've found it easier to remove most of the pack with a facial wipe then rinse with lukewarm water. The only drawback I've found is its tendency to get stuck in my naturally large pores. So occasionally I wipe my nose with an astringent pad after.

After rinsing my face feels very refreshed but also very moisturized! I especially like using it in the morning to make it look like I didn't have my face mushed into my pillow all night. The brightening isn't permanent, but there's certainly a visible difference. I've been using it two to three times a week, and in fact am wearing it as I type!

Good for my sensitive skin

I have sensitive skin so I am really careful of choosing cosmetic products. The mask does great brighten and deep cleaning job.
